Curb appeal ideas from Staged 2 Sell.
>> Trim, fertilize and water the lawn. A beautiful lawn is the foundational piece of great curb appeal.
>> Rake and weed flowerbeds. Spread new mulch such as beauty bark, pine needles or gravel to put a finishing touch on landscaping
>> Trim bushes and shrubs if they're obstructing views of the house, including the front entrance area, windows, side and back yards.
>> Remove dead or dying plants and replace them with healthy plants. Place seasonal flowers near the front door and porch area. Beautiful colors will attract potential buyers.
>> Repair and paint fences, mailbox, shutters, front and garage door. A fresh coat of paint in these areas will create major impact. Black is a timeless, neutral color for shutters and 'stand-out' colors look great on front doors.
>>Clean all debris from front and back yards. Toys, sports equipment and last season's holiday decorations are distracting. Reduce clutter on decks and patios so they look bigger. Get rid of old flowerpots, BBQs, bags of charcoal, planters, construction materials and excess furniture.
>> Power-wash decks and moss growing on siding. Stains and a greenish hue will not help you get top dollar!
>> Clean out the gutters. Nothing says work to buyers like gutters overflowing with leaves, sticks and stale water.
>> Move trash and recycle bins to rear of house. An organized garbage area will "tell" the buyers a lot about the condition of your home.
>> Replace the mat at the front door. Nothing says "Welcome!" like a fresh new mat.
>> Remove signs such as "Beware of Dog" and "Private Property." Don't scare potential buyers away!
